DIY Paper Heart Chain Garlands

Jan. 22, 2026

DIY paper garlands are the chicest way to dissociate this season. I think this trend makes a lot of sense cuz we are collectively very unwell lol. There is nothing like a butt-numbing paper therapy crafting sesh to slake the agita!

These paper hearts are so cheap and easy to make: no talent or actual love required. First gather a variety of candy colored printer paper that makes your heart chakra palpitate with resonance. Slice your paper into 1.5 inch strips with the aplomb of a guy at the deli counter slicing the umpteenth gabagool pile of the day. Each strip is folded in half, looped into a heart, and stapled into a chain. Repeat until…

It’s suddenly one whole afternoon later, the paper cutter feels like an extension of your hand, and you have entered a trance state and achieved paper heart chain singularity. You step foot onto your living room floor and have to wade through the tangle of garlands like a cranberry bogger. Then you’re all done!

Drape the garlands across your mantle, or join all the garlands in the center of your ceiling to form a glorious pink starburst/rat king. These garlands say “someone here wants you to NOT forget valentine’s day this year,” loudly!!! 💖✂️
