Happy New Year to all who celebrate!
Like many of you, I kicked off 2026 deep in the trenches of my apartment, cleaning the lint of Christmas Past. Can someone who knows astrology DM me and let me know what planet I can blame for this sudden urge to deep clean my pyrex and my psyche??? Uranus? Myanus?
January is the introvert Super Bowl. I myself am extrovert-presenting yet have a soft, molten, introvert candy center that steers my entire life (extrovert sun, introvert rising). January is the best month to cancel plans or have plans canceled on you, which are some of my favorite pastimes. All hail the month of Yanuary!
Here are my absolute faves this week. Some are actively helping me cocoon in the chrysalis of my apartment before I reemerge in February in my pupa state:
PJ Salvage Pajamas
My number one outfit this week has been these pajamas LOL. I am almost 6 foot two (!) and it’s been a lifelong struggle to find women’s pajamas that are long enough. For some reason, these PJ Salvage pajamas are long af and they don’t even come in a tall size. And my inseam is like 36 miles long. Also, omg the design, can you even???? When I wear these I feel like I’m in some sort of CareBears gang embroiled in a cumulus cloud turf war.
Poppi Lissiman Sunglasses
Just got these Poppi Lissiman sunglasses over the holidays and I’m so obsessed. I have a big enough head/face that can pull off the most ginormous bug-eyed sunglasses in existence, and got this pair for the giant lens dimensions. I’ve never bought anything from this brand before but these are so high quality and hefty!
Hypochlorous Acid
This has become my number one cleaning tool. Hypochlorous acid is a non toxic-yet super disinfecting cleaning agent. I tried it out by getting a spray bottle and loved it so much I now order it by the gallon. ! There’s something about this stuff that literally makes surfaces SPARKLING clean.
Abercrombie Camo Pants
In terms of my style, I am a maximalist through and through and my outfits can be very outlandish. However, I noticed that since the pandemic I’ve been dressing in a traditional Adam Sandler uniform of sweatpants and oversized t-shirts when I’m not “going out”. And since I actually never go out, I realized that I have been dressing like Adam Sandler EVERY SINGLE DAY.
So one of my 2026 goals is to switch that up and swap out the sweatsuits with regular clothes (!!!!!!!!!!!). I am starting with regular pants, which I haven’t actually worn since 2006.
My first foray into pants are these camo cargo pants from Abercrombie. These are kinda like, my starter pants because I am simply not ready for jeans yet. I got them in a tall size, which is still slightly short on me tbh. Abercrombie says these pants are from their “archival” collection, which tracks because I literally had a pair of camo cargo capris in 2003 from Abercrombie and these are designed in the exact same vein, the same squandron if you will.
So far I am LOVING these pants. They are so comfy and also giving massive y2k vibes. Whenever I put them on, I have a sudden hankering for wearing a hot pink thong on the outside of my pants. The only downside so far is the other day the guy behind the counter at 7 Eleven literally asked me if I was in the National Guard.
Concha Slippers
I got these concha slippers for my birthday last month and not only are they cozy af but they match almost everything I own, and also my apartment. I wear these with socks and feel like I’m wearing marshmallows on my feet.
Concha AirPods Case
To match the concha slippers we also have this concha AirPods case. If I keep acquiring more concha-themed novelty items people are gonna think I have an OnlyFlans!
Govee Light Bars
I got a new TV for my living room for Christmas and these Govee light bars stick right behind it. If you have a TV, I highly recommend you do the same. I used to think that LED lights were just for Gen Z streamers and the interiors of Ubers, but no. They actually look really soft and vibey. You will love it!!!
Tea Strainer
One of my January aesthetics is the Sleepytime Tea bear. But I realized that I didn’t have a proper tea strainer! So I got this one and have been LOVING it. It has a built-in stir handle, a little switch that opens the tea strainer like a James Bond spy device, and makes making loose leaf tea so easy.
Entertainment
Last week I finished Pluribus on AppleTV, which I loooooved, even though there are 2-3 episodes they could have totally thrown in the garbáge. I’ve actually watched it a total of two times because I forced my entire family to watch it during the holidays with me oops!
I’ve been reading this giant Neville Goddard book collection because I’ve been trying to shift into a parallel reality pretty hard, so that’s what’s on my nightstand right now lol. I attempted to go see the new 28 Years Later movie but didn’t realize it was a sequel and I never saw the first 28 Years Later movie so ended up not going oopsies. I also got super sucked into this TikTok creator’s series on dating a billionaire that she met on Raya. She’s been releasing a new 10 mins or so of the story every day and I am HOOKED. Oh! I also just got Vogue & Vanity Fair physical magazine subscriptions. It’s been far too long since these phalanges have grazed the glossy pages of a ‘zine!
Have a fab week and see you next time <3
